Harvest Moon Patchwork & Quilting

About Liz

Liz Musselwhite

Liz Musselwhite has been sewing since before she was old enough to go to school, having learned at the knee of her mother and from her grandmother, both of whom were used to making all the clothing required in their households.

Liz has a go at anything to do with a needle, and has been an avid dress maker, knitter, beader over the years, but her main love is Patchwork and Quilting. She has spent years making cruise wear and wedding gowns, as well as tailoring and outdoor wear.

Liz has both O and A levels in Textiles, and has also the City & Guilds certificate in Patchwork & Quilting. Liz has been a member of the "Quilters Guild of the British Isles" since the early 1990s and regularly attends their regional study days.

Her work has been exhibited at the NEC Festival of Quilts and she has one several Judges Merit awards for work exhibited at the Quilts UK exhibitions in Malvern and the UK Quilt Championships in Sandown. She has also been awarded the Best in Show Award for “The Star of Harvest” at a Southern counties exhibition.

"The Star of Harvest" has also been featured in advertisements in major quilting magazines for the Quilts UK exhibition.

Liz has had 3 of her quilts as part of a national travelling exhibition appearing at quilt shows in Malvern, Sussex, Edinburgh and Exeter.

Liz is an enthusiastic sharer of her skills, and the courses are offered to beginner and novice quilters in the hope of others enjoying the pleasure that can be gained from this absorbing art. The courses are also suitable for experienced quilters who wish to learn a new technique.
